X-Lite Setup Guide

    

Get Started:

In order to configure the X-Lite softphone to work with your 3NG VoIP service, please complete the following steps:


The soft client should NOT be activated when a phone adapter is currently active on the same account. Having more than one device active on your account at the same time could result in system errors and possible service interruption.

1)    If X-Lite is already installed on your computer skip to Step 4

2)    Visit Counterpath’s website and download the correct version for your operating system

3)    Install and Start X-Lite.

4)    If this window has not opened yet, right click on any part of the softphone and select “SIP Account Settings” Click on "Add".



5)    Please enter your information for the following fields.

a)    Display Name (optional): Your Name
b)    Username: Your 10 digit phone number with +1 prefix. EX +1XXXXXXXXXX
c)    Password: Your account password
d)    Domain: 207.235.124.81

6)    Please enter voicemail settings:
a)    “    “ checking voicemail: sip:114@207.235.124.81


 

7)    You’re ready to start calling! For best audio results, consider using a premium headset with microphone. This will help reduce the possibility of echo from adjacent speakers and microphone.


Troubleshooting:

1)    When registration is complete, the X-Lite display window will indicate "Ready – Your username is: XXXXXXXXXX."
2)    If your X-Lite display window displays a registration error message code such as 401 or 404 then re-enter your Username and Password on the Account tab. Be sure to eliminate any extra characters and/or spaces.
